Located on St. Simons Island’s southeastern corner, the neighborhood of East Beach is bordered by the salt marsh and the Atlantic Ocean. Before the Civil War, this land was part of the Kelvin Grove plantation. Today you will find picturesque cottages, grand oceanfront estates, and many other home styles in between.
East Beach is a neighborhood of permanent residents, second homes, and private homes available for vacation rental. All of our residents and guests enjoy the year-round splendor and natural beauty of our pristine beaches and the vital eco-system of our marshes and creeks.
At the neighborhood’s northernmost point, Gould’s Inlet is part of Georgia’s Colonial Coast Birding Trail. Besides bird watching, the inlet provides a view of Sea Island and a perfect spot for coffee with the sunrise. At the southern end, the historic Coast Guard Station houses a maritime museum together with parking and access to the widest part of the beach.
