NEWS FROM NEW EBA PRESIDENT

The new Board just had its first meeting. We had a great conversation. We discussed short term rentals, social gatherings, the Trick or Treat event, a possible trip to the Port, the upcoming program at Coastal Georgia College on Sea Level Rise as well as meeting with local official on building codes and traffic issues on East Beach.

My goal will be to post a new note each month at a minimum to help keep everyone informed as to the goings on. If you have any questions, information and or insights please let me know. Best to email me at jacobsb@indiana.edu.

Please know that members of the Board are meeting with the Police Department on the traffic speed issue, the Planning Department on Code Enforcement and members of the Board on Commissioners on short-term rental issues.

Our next Meet and Greet will be held in late February. We have a Beach Sweep set for January 5-meet at Gould’s Inlet at 8:30 am. Also look for an announcement for our annual Marsh Cleanup for early next year. I wish you all a wonderful holiday- a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukah, a Happy Kwanza and a very Happy New Year.

All the best,

Bruce

Located on St. Simons Island’s southeastern corner, the neighborhood of East Beach is bordered by the salt marsh and the Atlantic Ocean. Rich in history, East Beach was originally part of the Kelvin Grove plantation pre-Civil War. Today, you will find homes ranging from picturesque cottages to grand oceanfront estates.
